As well as serving the pet owning community in Horley, our branch surgery on Horley Row is also ideally located for pet owners in Shipley Bridge, Copthorne, Crawley Outowood, Salfords, Charlwood, Newdigate, Rusper, Faygate, Pease pottage, Redhill and Reigate.
About our practice
We are extremely proud to still be a family-owned non-corporate vet practice in Horley. We have been providing veterinary care and advice since 2018 in Horley and since 2004 at East Grinstead. We also have another vet practice in Edenbridge, which opened in 2013.
Portland Vets in Horley first opened in September 2018 with Vet Emma, Nurse Claire and Student Nurse Louise. Since then the team has grown considerably to 6 vets, 7 nurses and a large support team of receptionists and patient care assistants. The practice was extended in 2021 to provide two additional consulting rooms and a dedicated in-house laboratory. Along with our modern practice there is a large car park with ample parking for our clients to use.
You and your pets couldn’t be in better hands; as an independent practice we always put the needs of our patients first and provide the highest standards of care. You are part of our family and we want you to have that same personalised experience at every visit, whichever Portland Vets branch you take your pet to.
Balancing growth with retaining that personal feel is very important to us and although we are constantly evolving and introducing new techniques, equipment, and software, we strive to retain a strong relationship with our clients and their pets.

Horley vet services & facilities
We are proud to be an independent Small Animal practice dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients. Our range of advanced equipment including X-ray, Ultrasound, Dental X-ray, Cryotherapy and Laser Therapy allows us to offer a range of diagnostics and treatments all from our Horley site.
You and your pet will benefit from the wide range of vet services and nurse-led care available at our Horley practice. These include preventative care, Pet Wellness Plans and surgical treatments.
At Horley we also have a:

All our branches have separate waiting areas and patient wards for cats and dogs and we adopt a number of cat friendly practices to ensure the comfort of all our patients.
Over at our Edenbridge practice, we have opened a stand-alone Cat Clinic onsite and look forward to welcoming you and your feline friends very soon.
Established in 2004
George and Jenny Christopherson first opened Portland Vets in East Grinstead in May 2004 with the vision of opening a high standard, friendly, caring, veterinary practice for the four-legged (and less) members of the family. They are extremely proud of the high level of service and expert care Portland Vets now offers its clients.
In 2013, Portland Vets opened a branch surgery in Edenbridge, and 2018 another surgery in Horley. Both surgeries have partners dedicated to each site and our recruitment and training programmes ensure that the Portland Vets’ exceptional standards exist at whichever practice our clients and their pets attend.
