Portland Vets believes that a responsible choice for all pet owners is to invest in a pet insurance policy. This will give you peace of mind if your pet ever needs medical attention for illness or injury. Treatment costs can build up over time, especially with long-term conditions such as diabetes, so pet insurance may be able to help with the financial burden*.
Our nursing team are happy to answer any questions you may have about pet insurance so do not hesitate to contact them at our Edenbridge practice.
It is important to note that it is your responsibility to pay for your pet’s treatment and then submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement. Our administration team will assist you with pet insurance advice, the claim forms and your pet’s full medical history. There is a small administration fee of £6.73 if you settle your account with Portland Vets before your claim. For larger claims, if the balance held with Portland Vets is not settled ahead of claiming on your insurance policy, you are required to fill in extra documentation and there will be an administration fee of £27.53.
*Please remember that your insurance policy is a binding agreement between you and your insurance provider. You should always read the policy documents and ensure that you understand what the insurer will and won’t cover, especially when it comes to pre-existing conditions.
