George is co-owner and founded Portland Vets with his wife, Jenny in 2004. He has an MBA from Durham University Business School, is a member of the VPMA (Veterinary Practice Manager's Association), and spent many years traveling the world in sales & business development for the chemical industry.
George has the vision, drive and stamina to keep moving Portland Vets forward as a progressive, well equipped veterinary business serving our local communities with high quality veterinary care. Much of the past 25 years has been spent organising the construction and expansion of the four Portland surgeries; East Grinstead 2004, Edenbridge 2012, Horley 2018 and Crawley 2025.
George is supported by a great team who manage the business on a day-to-day basis in preparation for George and Jenny’s retirement when Portland Vets becomes an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) in the early 2030’s.
George also founded 2 other veterinary business’s Lingfield Equine Vets in 2007 (becoming an EOT in 2023), organising the construction of their substantial hospital site in Felbridge, with a branch surgery near Ashford in Kent; and Green Counties Vets, a farm practice specialising in cattle/dairies in 2018.
