Construction Progress : Basement Nearing Completion

October was a busy month for the Portland Vets Crawley team, and we’re thrilled to share that construction is progressing according to schedule. The basement is now ready for the installation of ceiling joists, and scaffolding is in place to complete the basement ceiling.

As the walls go up, we’re excited to see the layout taking shape internally and can start to see the formation of individual areas and rooms. We continue to take advantage of the good weather, let us know if you have had a peek when passing!

Valuing Your Input :Flooring Feedback

We recently received a valuable question from a pet owner about the flooring choice. They were concerned about ensuring a non-slip surface for their pets and this is something we consider in our practice especially for excitable pups and senior dogs who need that extra bit of grip.

To address this concern, we’ve invited the pet owner to visit our Horley practice to experience their flooring first-hand, including the specific type of non-slip surface used and its effectiveness. We believe that involving our clients in the design process is crucial, and we’re grateful for their valuable input. By considering their feedback, we can create a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also safe and comfortable for all our patients and visitors.

Practice Feature Spotlight : Veterinary led Tortoise Hibernation Hotel

We’re excited to announce that our new Crawley practice will feature an expanded Tortoise Hibernation Hotel. Our East Grinstead practice has successfully provided hibernation for tortoises for several years now, but unfortunately have been fully booked each year and many tortoise owners find themselves on our waiting list. With increased capacity at the Crawley practice, we’ll be able to accommodate over 150% more tortoises, ensuring more of those on the waitlist get to hibernate their tortoise with us.

Our hibernation service includes:

• Safe and monitored hibernation: Our experienced veterinary team will closely monitor your tortoise’s health throughout the hibernation period.
• Weekly updates: You receive regular updates on your tortoise’s progress, including photos and videos of bath time during the wind-down period and snack time as they awaken.
• Professional care: Many tortoise owners find hibernation stressful and worrying. We take that worry away and ensure your tortoise has a safe and successful hibernation.
